Other than 2022, is this the first year in a while where Neighbours hasn't been shown on Christmas Day?

Actually, Neighbours took a break over Christmas 2020 and 2021 due to the breakdown in relations between Channel 5 and Network 10 in Aus. It did air over Christmas 2018, 2019 and 2023.

Neighbours aired on Christmas Day in 1992 and 1995, but only the lunchtime airing.
Have to thank the Radio Tines thread for that

I think 1992 was when Glen Donnelly fell off the roof.

ITV told Journalists that Corrie was dropping early, ITVX told people on Twitter neither Corrie or Emmerdale were dropping early, so for ITV its very confusing at the moment
EastEnders is still to be confirmed, i expect they will confirm them on Monday

Coronation Street have confirmed âmostâ episodes will drop at 7am, so Iâm gathering from that, that it will not drop early on Christmas Day
Emmerdale have posted the same so again Christmas Day seemingly wonât drop early

Good I want to watch the soaps live on Christmas night instead of early releases. I'm all for early releases but for big episodes and Christmas is that then I don't mind premiering first on ITV1. New Yearâs Day should be the same. Around Christmas and New Year they should premiere episodes as usual on ITVX. Essentially Corrie this year due to Gail's exit and let viewers watch it together! I don't have much hope for Gail's exit storyline but that doesn't mean premiere early.

The EastEnders Twitter account has posted to say that the 23rd and Xmas Eve will be available at 6:00am but Xmas Day and Boxing Day wonât be.
New Yearâs Day is the only episode from the following week which is not being released early.

Boxing Day not dropping early is very interesting, something must happen either as a cliffhanger on Xmas Day or in the Boxing Day episode that they donât want spoiled

Indeed. Especially as they released Boxing Day early in 2022 & 2023. I reckon @Scrabblerâs Cindy whodunit theory may be correct.
