Is JiJi from St. math a boy or girl? ›

JiJi FAQs. Is JiJi male or female? JiJi does not have a specific gender so students can assign attributes to JiJi that make sense to them and will support them in their mathematical journey with JiJi.

Q: Why can't JiJi jump? Although some penguins can jump, JiJi is a special non-jumping penguin species. JiJi needs your help to get past the obstacles on the screen.

If students use a Picture Password, they access the program at play.stmath.com. If they have forgotten their password, you'll need to get in touch with their teacher.

The Picture Password is a set of 13 pictures that students are taught to recognize. For new students, the first example of neuroscience at work in ST Math is how they can easily learn to recognize a 13-picture password.

Jiji also gets a girlfriend, a white cat named Lily. In the credits, it is revealed that Jiji and Lily had four kittens, with three bearing a close resemblance to Lily and one looking exactly the same as Jiji.

JiJi (pronounced jee-jee, not the French zhee-zhee) is the beloved penguin in the ST Math software games. Students help JiJi overcome obstacles by solving math puzzles — and they associate JiJi with the thrill of challenge and success.

They are able to talk to each other because of their close relationship, rather than magic itself (a cat being able to live so long could be magic, though). Miyazaki made Jiji not be able to talk to Kiki even after she regained her power to show that Kiki has grown, and doesn't need her "other self" anymore.

Pros: Interactive games with minimal reading make activities accessible to a range of learners. Cons: Some visuals might be too childish for older students. Bottom Line: Great tool for differentiating in-class and at-home math practice.

In the film's final act, Kiki loses her magic abilities, making her unable to fly or talk to Jiji. She eventually regains her ability to fly, but she can no longer communicate with her cat, as suggested by his “meow” in the final scene of the film's original Japanese version.

What happens when you get 100% on St math? ›

ST Math is mastery based, which means students must pass each level with a score of 100% (all puzzles correctly solved) before the next level in a sequence becomes available to them. Each student has their own personalized journey and takes as long as they need to achieve mastery.

Students will automatically begin the Bonus Journey once they complete the grade-level journey. This provides even more great ST Math games which are added to the student's puzzle count. Bonus Journey games can be assigned to individual students or to the entire class at anytime during the school year.

Jiji is a gender-neutral name of Korean origin. In Korean, the name Ji can mean either “intellectual, wise” or “pond,” and can be used as either a given or family name. Wisdom is certainly a good trait to hope for in baby!

Another element of the film's witchy imagery is Jiji, Kiki's male cat and typical witch's companion. While it's not uncommon for female protagonists to have male animal sidekicks, Jiji's position as one of the few main boy characters in the movie raises some interesting observations.
